It’s no surprise how much I love MacKenzie-Childs so I couldn’t wait to style a holiday table with some of the gorgeous MacKenzie-Childs pieces I had, and some new ones! Last year, on my blogger trip to Campy Courtly Check in Aurora, NY at the MacKenzie-Childs headquarters, we had some amazing meals with the most gorgeous table settings ever! (Read about that trip here!) For one of our lunches, the napkins were folded into the sweetest bow and that has since become my favorite napkin fold. When setting the table for a fun Christmas dinner I wanted to use pieces that I could use again for a New Years Eve dinner. (If I am taking all this stuff out I might as well get some use out of it!)
When starting a table setting I like to begin in the middle, with a centerpiece or table runner and work up and then around. My kitchen table is dark so I wanted a runner to lighten it up. I choose the Silver Lining Table Runner and OMG how gorgeous it is… But really, it’s sparkling silver beads and white velvet, who wouldn’t love that combo? The runner would look stunning alone but I layered the Underpinnings Garland on top of it for some serious drama. This runner is pre-lit and battery operated with pinecones and Courtly Check ribbon running throughout. Both of these items are perfect to also keep out for New Years.
I always like to add a little “something extra” to a garland and for this one I added a few of these amazing Silver Lining Thistle Clips and Jester Fancy Ornaments. The Silver Lining Thistle Clips added just the right amount of sparkle for New Years glam and I will take off the Jester Fancy ornaments for New Years.
To finish off the centerpiece I added 4 Silver Lining Pillar candles and Courtly Check Candle Holders. Black and white stripe or gold striped candles would look really cute for New Years too!
My Courtly Check Enamel Chargers are always my go to for place settings. They are just the perfect pop of fun under any dish, even a plain white one! Next up was to use these Evergreen Dinner Plates that I have had for a year and was so excited to finally use them! Because the outside of the dish is has a greenery and ribbon design they look like wreaths so my bow napkins were so perfect to place on top.
I used the Sweetbriar Windowpane Napkin to make the bows and the Courtly Check Enamel Napkin Rings to cinch them closed. The Sweetbriar napkins are perfect for a bow napkin fold because square napkins make an even bow.
When styling a more formal table setting I get to use my gold flatware. I purchased them a few years ago from Homegoods but I found similar ones here.
I decided to get a little fancy and bring out my Waterford Crystal glasses I received at my Bridal Shower. They always add the perfect amount of sparkle to my table which is great for Christmas and New Years! Don’t be afraid to use your Crystal of China, otherwise it will just sit in a closet or cabinet. Mix it up with fun dinnerware, enjoy a meal on it, take a picture and send it to your mom or aunts that got it for you. It will make them smile that your using it!
When styling a table setting for any winter party add a pillow or throw to a chair or bench. It gives it such a cozy vibe!
I hope you enjoyed my post and leave with some inspiration for setting your own table with a mix of some Mackenzie-Childs pieces that will get you through Christmas and New Years!
Have a safe and special Christmas and New Years!
