Last fall was a blur with welcoming our daughter Taylor Madison into the word so fall decor didn’t really happen. This fall, I couldn’t wait to add some pumpkins and warm colors to my home. I usually show some serious love to white and neutral pumpkins but for some reason this fall I was all about the traditional fall colors. You can see some of my previous fall home decor here. My kitchen is pretty much all white/gray so the pops of oranges and reds really stand out.
When decorating for any season you don’t need to go crazy with decor, for fall, my favorite item to use is pumpkins, obviously! Mixing real and faux pumpkins help keep the cost of buying new pumpkins down each year. I bought a few of the baby boo and small orange ones and just mixed them in with some faux Mackenzie-Childs ones.
These tiny Mackenzie-Childs pumpkins have to be one of my favorite pieces, they come in a pack that actually spell out Beware, they make new ones now that spell “spooky” you can check them out here. I just turn them around (so you don’t see the letters) and spread them in different spots. They are the perfect size!
On each side of my kitchen window I usually have topiaries or some sort of greenery. I switched them out and put the golden faux garland around the window. The light looks so bright and warm coming through when it hits the leaves! Oh and of course I spread a few pumpkins around the sink too!
The jars at my coffee bar normally keep my Keurig k-cups, but I always wanted a “Khloe Kardashian” Oreo jar…So I bought 3 bags of Halloween Oreos and filled a medium size Hocking Jar with them. I love how it looks and neutral plan on doing red Oreos for Christmas! In the smallest jar I put a few baby orange pumpkins to brighten up the space. PSA- if you are putting real pumpkins in any kind of jar make sure air can get in otherwise the pumpkins will get moldy. ( I learned this the hard way one year, ew.) I keep the lid next to the jar during the day.
To decorate the peninsula in my kitchen I try to group together a few items. Since I was adding warmth in here for the season I brought out a wooden cutting bored to put the items on. I already had out this vase but it was filled with some eucalyptus, so I switched it out for 2 stems of faux red and orange leaves. I think adding these leaves made the biggest impact in my kitchen! Next I just added a few more pumpkins and I was done!
As always, I hope you enjoyed my post and left with some inspiration! And reminder, decorating for the season does not have to be expensive or overwhelming! Little touches go a long way!
