Im so glad you found your way over here from Charolette, At Charolette’s House gorgeous entryway she designed! I usually don’t put together any special tablescapes during the summer unless its a little something for the Fourth of July. So when Christmas Tree Shops And That! asked me to I was super excited. This was going to be something pretty different from my usual settings (you can check out some other ones I have done here.) At first I thought about doing a red white and blue theme because Christmas Tree Shops And That! has such a good selection of Americana. But once I stopped in and saw these wicker lanterns I wanted a fresh and fun coastal summer theme. I have seen almost the exact lantern at another store for about 5xs the price and couldn’t believe it. Again, just another reason I LOVE shopping at Christmas Tree Shops And That!
After rounding the store a few times (because there is so much stuff you can’t see it all in one lap) I saw some lemon accessories and it reminded me of a sliced lemon centerpiece I made a few years ago that I wanted to recreate. So next was to search for a great vessel for the flowers and lemons. I was buying two lanterns for the table and would put the flowers in between them so I wanted something that was a little shorter than the lanterns. I like to shy away from traditional vases so I love checking out the kitchen section for something to use as a vase. Christmas Tree Shops And That! has such a huge selection I knew I would find something neat. I saw a glass trifle bowl that I knew would be perfect, it was about half the size of the lanterns and with some white hydrangeas it would be just a little lower and look perfect. I then picked up a small low vase to put in it for the flowers.
I wanted to keep this tablescape simple for summer so I found a plain white linen runner to use. For some reason lemons look so good with blue so when I found these printed blue charges I was so happy. They even had really pretty round woven wicker ones I was going to get but I wanted to add some color so I went with the blue. Since I was keeping it simple I also found plastic dishes that looked just like paper dishes that worked so well with the place setting! I knew these would be getting allot of use this summer because they are perfect for meals outside. (AND they were only $1.49 each!)
Christmas Tree Shops And That! has such a good selection of linens so along with the runner, I picked out some white linen napkins. Instead of just folding them the traditional way I folded them diagonal into a triangle, and then made a loose knot. Changing up the way you fold a napkin is such a fun addition to your table. The knot reminded me of boating knot (Fun fact: I took boating lessons with my dad when I was 12 to get my boaters license).
I had so much fun putting together this fun summer lemon tablescape and centerpiece for Christmas Tree Shops And That! I hope you enjoyed it and recreate something similar yourself! Just remember when putting together a tablescape you don’t have to spend allot! Mix and match pieces with what you have and just pick out a few new pieces, and Christmas Tree Shops And That! is the perfect place to do that!
