Welcome to our Valentines Day at Home Blog Tour! Over the next few days, this amazing group of talented bloggers will be sharing some great ideas to help you celebrate Valentine’s Day! You may have found your way here from Pink Peppermint Design, (isn’t her home stunning?) so thank you for visiting!
When I was first invited on this blog tour I was so excited because of course I love Valentine’s day, decor with shades of pinks and reds? YES PLEASE! The first thing I knew that I wanted was a “XOXO” table runner, I was going to get some white fabric and paint the letters on it until I found a roll of white craft paper for $3.99 at Christmas Tree Shoppes. I bought that, rolled some of it out and with black glossy craft paint I painted the letters, “XOXO” diagonally down the runner. I was so happy with how it turned out!
Setting the table around my DIY runner was so easy, I layred my Dollar Tree gold charges, Mackenzie-Childs Courtly Check Dinner Plate, a red dessert dish from Homegoods, a white heart doily and a heart lollipop that finished off with a white bow.
To make this setup even easier I didn’t cook anything! I bought the doughnuts, cookies and macaroons and just displayed them on my FAVORITE 3 tiered Mackenzie-Childs dessert tray. However, I did microwave the popcorn, and it came out OK on the second try… (I think my house still smells like burnt popcorn.) To finish it off, I drizzled white chocolate and sprinkled red sprinkles on the popcorn to make it a little more festive. It is such an easy trick you can do for any holiday, just switch up the sprinkle colors!
All parties need some sort of drink station so I set up a small one on the counter. I had three pitchers filled with, cranberry juice, banana strawberry OJ, regular orange juice and of course a bottle or two of champagne. I also set up a few small dishes so guests could rim their glasses in a fun way if they wanted. One dish was filled with white icing, just dip your glass in there first and then have your pick of conversation hearts or red and white sprinkles!
Thank you so much for joining us on this tour, now it’s time to head on over to The Posh Home! Bethanie’s home is so gorgeous just wait until you see it decked out for Valentine’s Day! Below is a complete list of all the other talented bloggers on the tour!
