For Christmas last year I made a classic charcuterie board that I served at our annual Christmas party. Ever since then I was dying for excuse to make another. When my friend Alyse from www.AlyseWarren.com reached out to me to be a part of this blog hop I was so excited to make a Halloween Charcuterie board! The group of girls that shared their boards are so creative! Be sure to scroll to the bottom to see everyones!
First thing was to head to google images or Pinterest to search and Pin some ideas of things that I like. (You can follow me on Pinterest HERE.) With this being a Halloween themed board I wanted to serve candy and cookies. How fun right? I ordered the adorable Halloween cookies from Dash’s Sweet Batches. They are local to North Jersey if you need any cute customized cookies! After deciding on the food, next was choosing a color theme. I would recommend sticking to about 3 or 4 colors when putting a board together. I chose orange, black, pink and white.
Now that I had my theme and colors I went through my cutting boards and bowls to see which would work. I picked out a plain rectangle wood board and 3 small bowls. Adding bowls helps keep some of the smaller items together.
When making any kind of charcuterie board I keep it simple and don’t try to make anything look perfect. The key is to layer and have enough items! Usually I will put the bowls and bigger items down first and then just make piles from there.
I also added a few Mackenzie-Childs pumpkins, you can find a similar set here. Depending on what your are making the board for, it’s fun to add some non food accessories. Baby pumpkins, mini skulls, skeletons and any other small Halloween decor would work!
I hope you enjoyed my post on how to make a Halloween Charcuterie Board and leave with some inspo! Be sure to check out the rest of the bloggers amazing boards below!
